Walk & Talk Counselling

Walk & Talk Counselling

For some people, talking feels much easier when they're not sitting face to face in a therapy room. Being outside, surrounded by open space and fresh air, can take the pressure off difficult conversations and make it easier to process thoughts and feelings.

Walk & Talk counselling is particularly helpful for neurodivergent people, those who feel more comfortable moving than sitting still, and anyone who simply finds peace in nature.

A different way to experience counselling

These sessions combine gentle movement with traditional counselling skills, allowing our conversations to unfold naturally as we walk through risk assessed, safe, quiet locations around Ongar and Chelmsford. There is no expectation to keep a particular pace, and we'll stop whenever you need to pause, reflect or simply take a breath. If the weather isn't on our side, we can easily move indoors (although a little rain isn't a problem), ensuring you always have a comfortable and supportive space to continue your session.

"Being in nature can stand down our nervous system, allowing the body and mind to relax into a place of safety and peace."

Is Walk & Talk counselling right for you?

Walk & Talk counselling may be a good fit if you find it easier to think whilst moving, feel confined in traditional therapy settings, or simply enjoy the calming effect of being outdoors.

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and the pace will be gentle, with opportunities to sit and rest along the route whenever needed. There is an option to have dogs join our walk, providing an element of comfort. Please let me know if you want to bring your own dog/s and we can discuss this possibility.

Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £60, taking place in Essex, predominantly Chelmsford and Ongar.
